Here is an guitar amplifier comparison between my Mesa Boogie Stiletto Ace, Triaxis, Dual Rectifier, 2:90, Marshall JMP-1, and ADA MP-1 3TM with a Mesa Recto 2x12 Cab as well, and a G-force used for its Noise Gate. This video is a full 10 min. long as i run through every amp to give you a good example if it's tone. Guitar used was an Ibanez SZ720FM loaded with a Duncan Distortion. Excuse the sloppy playing and excuse me for chopping up the song...i just was wanting to do a test...i know there are more parts to the song!

I thought it fitting that I play my 335 on this since Larry Carlton was the reason I bought this 335 26 years ago.

My Mesa/Boogie Triaxis 2.0 ist Humming not only in high gain modes. It´s not hissing! its like deep tone humming - i don´t like it. Especially on stage i always have to shut down my volume pedal. It´s new one - i bought it some weeks ago in a normal music store in germany. In this Video I used the LD2(HighGainChannelMode) - a Fender Stratocaster, a small non tube Poweramp and a small box with a 12`Celestion Speaker and a very expensive Guitar Cable. The Microphone was a Shure Beta 56 into a RME Octamic(a fine 8-Channel Microphone Preamp to Digital Interface). So that´s the signal path - all the way professional standard. It seems that a lot of buyers of a Triaxis 2.0 have the same Problem. Did Mesa/Boogie make mistakes in the creation of this preamp? What do you think? Can this be normal for a Preamp that cost 2500,- Euro? Do you also have one? and does it hume the same way? I would like to discuss this here. greetings Quejes

Playing my favorite Metallica song, Orion, with my Mesa Boogie Triaxis and Jackson Guitar with Dimebucker Pickups
I figured its about time to make a 2nd video in response to my first one which seemed to get some good feedback. I know the sound quality of the first one wasn't quite up to par, so here it is, the 2nd video with better tone and sound. I didn't go into any details about the pickups because that was covered in the first one. Gear is: Custom Ibanez RG550/Jem with all Ibanez parts sans the pickups (x2N in Bridge, Tone Zone in Neck) and pickguard. Original Jem77BFP neck (the most comfy neck in the world), RG550L basswood body, no tone knob and 3 way switch. Mesa Boogie TriAxis 2.0 non-phat, running 5 after market GT tubes. T.C. Electronic G-Major in the loop with some Delay, reverb, Comp and Gate, BBE 882 Sonic Maximizer running around 60% for both the Lo Contour and Process, and a Carvin TS-100 power amp running @ 50 watts one side with EL-34's. 2 Mesa Thiele 1x12's both with the legendary EV 200 watt speakers. Volume on the power amp is about 1.5. http://www.myspace.com/ibanezrobb

Boogie / Soldano like crunch sound with my ESP MII Deluxe with Seymour Duncan JB on the bridge, Triaxis tube preamp, Fifty/Fifty tube power amp and Mesa 2x12 Rectifier cabinet with Celestion Vinage 30´s. Audio and Video recorded with a digital camera: Samsung S500.
Sound route: JP6 CrunchLab Pickup — Boss NS2 (noise supressor) -- Maxon OD808 (booster + low overdrive settings) -- BB Plus Preamp (booster only on both A and B) -- Triaxis Ld2 Yellow (Drive 3.0, Gain 5.5) -- TC Electronics G-Major (Noise Gate + EQ + little Reverb) -- Mesa Boogie 20/20 Amp (very low volume... higher volume = better sound = Police at the door!) -- Mesa Boogie 2x12 V30’s Rectifier Cabinet Captured with camera's microphone from 2 feets away from the cabinet. Triaxis sounds better as the volume increases. Used with no other effects pre or post, Triaxis needs a lot of tweaking but with no exceptional results, when used with 20/20 Amp. Moreover, the better the tubes in Triaxis, the better the sound; it is very sensitive on tubes and you need to find those which are good for your taste; I haven't found mine yet! However, a decent sound may be obtained with a OD pedal in front of and EQ after Triaxis. I use Maxon OD808 for its tube like sound coloring and feeling. BB Plus Preamp is used as a booster only. It cleans the sound in channel A and adds punch in channel B. It is also compensating low frequency loss in Maxon and channel A. Used together, these two pedals gives Triaxis a higher signal level at the input stage, therefore leaving Triaxis little job to do with low drive and gain settings. Lower drive on Triaxis leads to better tone at higher volumes. All pedalboard effects are powered by the new, small, powerfull and inovative BECOS Pedal Fuel Cell DC power ...
